Jenn Reid

Senior Consultant and Evaluation Director

With over 30 years of experience in an applied research position within an academic setting, twenty of which involved mentoring, development, and supervision of others, Jenn brings a wealth of expertise to her role. As a developmental psychologist, Jenn's evaluation and research focus on enhancing the positive developmental trajectory of individuals across all lifespan stages.


Her current work centers on equity, explicitly exploring equity within academia related to diverse women faculty in STEM fields (NSF-funded grant) and advancing the success of underrepresented students in STEM fields (HHMI-funded). Jenn has collaborated with the Virginia Department of Health on five statewide evaluation and needs assessment projects funded by the CDC and NIH. Moreover, she has partnered with non-profit, state, and university-based departments/organizations, serving as external or internal evaluators.


Several of her reports have played a crucial role in amending and adopting policies and procedures to enhance the effectiveness of services and programming. Jenn's extensive background encompasses all facets of survey research, evaluation, and analysis, employing qualitative and quantitative methods. Before joining the Center for Public Policy, she held positions as the Research and Development Director for the Research Institute for Social Equity and the Director of Evaluation for the Survey and Evaluation Research Laboratory. Jenn has served as the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI on various funded projects, many of which were multi-million dollars. Additionally, she was an adjunct faculty member in VCU's School of Psychology.


Throughout her career, Jenn has had the honor of working with diverse populations across Virginia. Her strength lies in effective collaboration, and she excels in developing high-quality research and evaluation plans that span various topic areas while adhering to best practices and federal/state/university regulations. Jenn approaches her work holistically, using an ecological systems lens to create comprehensive research and evaluation plans.


In 2020, Jenn obtained her certification as a coach and currently holds an ACC. She is an accomplished and accredited success coach, bringing a wealth of expertise from a background in coaching and developmental psychology. With a commitment to guiding individuals toward authentic success, she offers a personalized approach that combines self-discovery, leadership development, and strategic planning.


She firmly believes in unlocking the inherent solutions within each individual she coaches.
