The Center for Public Policy, in partnership with the Office of the Governor and the Virginia Latino Advisory Board (VLAB), conducted a study to better understand the economic contributions and needs of Virginia’s Latino community. The study included a literature review, surveys, focus groups, interviews, and economic modeling. This was to provide holistic view of workforce participation, business activity, and community challenges of the Latino community here in Virginia. Key findings show that Latinos are a vital part of Virginia’s economy, contributing significantly to GDP and tax revenue, while also facing barriers in education, workforce development, and access to resources. These insights are intended to guide strategic planning and investment to support the Latino community and the broader Commonwealth.
