The Center for Public Policy is here to provide assistance for all of your policy and legislative needs. From government agencies and nonprofits to the General Assembly and beyond, creating policies that are clear, concise, and practical set the state for organizational success.
Our team can help you better understand the intended and unintended impacts of existing or proposed legislation or policies, identify policy outcomes for diverse stakeholder groups, determine if and how to modify or create create or modify policies to help you reach your goals, and create draft language for these new or modified legislation or policies.
Our process is truly customizable to the needs of your agency or organization. While each engagement is unique, our typical process is outlined below.
- We start each engagement by meeting with Work with your organization to identify your policy or legislative questions and goals and customize next steps and overall plan.
- Conduct an analysis of your existing policies, as well as a review of the literature and/or policies of peer organizations. Depending on your needs, this may include an economic impact analysis, an equity analysis, an analysis of the policy's overall effectiveness or reach, a comparison of multiple policies to determine which is optimal, and more.
- Use the results of our analysis and review to identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth within your organization's policies.
- Create draft language for a modified or new policy that amplifies your current strengths and leads to growth and improved outcomes for your organization and those you serve.
- Collaborate with your organization to ensure the fit and feasibility of our recommendations, and provide guidance on communicating and implementing your new policy.
